AI identification and pricing data may not always be accurate. Comp Buddy and Silo Studios L.L.C. are not liable for any purchasing decisions, overpayment, or financial losses based on information provided by the tool. Users are responsible for verifying all pricing information before making any purchase.

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Comp Buddy (the "Service"), operated by Silo Studios L.L.C. ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Our website is compbuddylive.com. The Service is provided as a Chrome browser extension and an iOS app, with both free and paid tiers.

2. Description of Service

Comp Buddy is a Chrome extension and iOS app that provides pricing intelligence for the secondary market. The Service works across eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and Whatnot to help users make more informed purchasing and reselling decisions by providing comparable sales data, offer suggestions, and real-time item identification.

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using Comp Buddy, you represent that you meet these requirements.

4. Account Registration

Certain free features (eBay Check Comps, Offer Assistant, cheaper alternatives) work without an account. Facebook Marketplace features require a free account. Premium features (AI image scans, Whatnot live scanning) require a paid subscription.

If you create an account, you must provide a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

5. Subscription Plans & Billing

Fair Use: The Pro plan includes up to 1,250 AI scans per calendar month. AI scans are computationally expensive; this cap exists to keep the Service fast and affordable for everyone. Scan usage resets monthly. We may throttle or decline requests that exceed plan limits, and we reserve the right to take action on usage patterns that indicate automation or abuse (see Acceptable Use).

Free Trial: We may offer a 7-day free trial on paid plans. A valid payment method is required to start the trial. You will not be charged during the 7-day trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your selected plan will automatically begin and your payment method will be charged the applicable monthly subscription fee. The trial automatically converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends. You may cancel at any time during the trial through Stripe (via Manage Account in the extension) and you will not be charged. Trials are limited to one per customer; we reserve the right to refuse or revoke a trial in cases of abuse.

All subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis. By subscribing (including by allowing a free trial to convert), you authorize us to charge your payment method each billing cycle until you cancel.

You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing cycle.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

5a. Community Data

When you use the Record Sale feature, the sale details you submit — including the item name, sale price, condition and grading information, platform, sale date, viewer count, and the seller's public username — are added to a community sales database and may be visible to other Comp Buddy users (for example, in the Whatnot Sales History and community feed features). Do not submit information you do not want shared with other users. Sale records, scan results, and other user-contributed information in this database are collectively referred to as "Community Data."

Screenshot proof images you attach are stored privately and are only displayed within the Service via short-lived signed links; they are not publicly listed. By submitting a sale, you represent that the information was publicly visible on the platform where the sale occurred and that your submission does not violate any third party's rights. We may review, flag, or remove submissions (for example, disputed or inaccurate sales) at our discretion.

Crowdsourced Data Accuracy

Community Data is crowdsourced from users and is not independently verified by us. It is provided on an "as-is" basis and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, mistyped, duplicated, or in some cases deliberately falsified by the submitting user. Verification badges (such as "Verified" or "Official") indicate only that a submission met certain internal criteria (for example, that it included proof or came from a source we trust); they are not a guarantee of accuracy. We make no representation or warranty that any Community Data reflects an actual sale, an actual price, or fair market value, and we disclaim all liability arising from your use of or reliance on Community Data. Always independently verify Community Data before relying on it.

License to User-Submitted Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit. However, by submitting sale records, screenshots, corrections, or any other content to the Service, you grant Silo Studios L.L.C. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, use, reproduce, modify, adapt, aggregate, anonymize, create derivative works from, publish, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating, improving, and promoting the Service — including displaying it to other users and incorporating it into aggregated statistics, market-trend analyses, and derived data products. This license survives termination of your account with respect to content already incorporated into the community database or aggregated datasets. You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant this license and that your submissions do not infringe any third party's rights.

No Financial Advice

Community Data, like all information provided by the Service, is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute financial, investment, tax, legal, or purchasing advice, and it is not an appraisal or valuation of any item. Past sale prices recorded by the community do not predict or guarantee future prices. You are solely responsible for your own purchasing, selling, and pricing decisions, and we are not liable for any losses resulting from decisions made in reliance on Community Data.

Community Data Disputes

If you believe a Community Data record is inaccurate, fraudulent, or contains information about you that you want corrected or removed, contact us at contact@compbuddylive.com with a link to or description of the record and the basis for your dispute. We will review good-faith disputes and may, at our sole discretion, flag, correct, annotate, or remove the record. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, response time, or that any record will be removed, and our decision on a disputed record is final. Disputes between you and Silo Studios L.L.C. arising out of or relating to Community Data or these Terms are governed by the Governing Law, Binding Arbitration, and Class Action Waiver sections of these Terms.

6. Accuracy Disclaimer

Comp Buddy's AI-powered item identification and eBay pricing data are provided on an "as-is" basis. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any identification or pricing information.

Pricing data reflects active eBay listings at the time of the query and may not represent final sale prices, fair market value, or the condition of specific items. You are solely responsible for verifying all information before making any purchasing decision.

7. Acceptable Use

Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content & Abusive Users

Comp Buddy has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You can report objectionable content directly in the app (use the "Report" action on any community sale) or by emailing contact@compbuddylive.com, and you can block other users from within the app. We review reports, typically within 24 hours, and may remove content and suspend or permanently terminate the accounts of users who post objectionable content or engage in abusive behavior, at our sole discretion.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, code, design, branding, and technology comprising Comp Buddy are the property of Silo Studios L.L.C. and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

eBay listing data displayed through the Service is sourced from publicly available information and remains the property of its respective owners.

9. Affiliate Links & Commissions

Comp Buddy contains affiliate links to eBay through the eBay Partner Network. When you click certain links within the extension (such as cheaper alternatives, related listings, or recently sold searches) and make a purchase, Comp Buddy may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate links do not affect the prices you see or pay. We only link to listings that are relevant to your search — we never promote paid placements or hide better options to earn commissions.

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise objectionable.

You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription through Stripe (via Manage Account in the extension) or by contacting us at contact@compbuddylive.com.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Silo Studios L.L.C. and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Silo Studios L.L.C. from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan.

15. Assignment

We may assign or transfer these Terms, and any rights and obligations hereunder, in whole or in part, in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, without notice to you. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except as noted below.

19. Third-Party Platforms & Data Sources

Comp Buddy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by eBay, Facebook, Whatnot, or any other third-party platform. All trademarks and brand names belong to their respective owners.
